We create fair paid jobs in rural areas of Brazil. Cross crops ensure that land will remain being used for conventional agro-products. We use ecological production techniques.

Starting in April 2007 experiments are done with irrigation, ecological farming, cross cropping and high density cultivation. We have over 50 hectares test area at our disposal in Baixo Acaraú (50m) and Guaramiranga (850m). In Quixada (200m) we cooperate with a governmental organisation. There is a theory that Mamona would grow better on higher grounds starting from 300 meters. Therefore we have chosen test areas on different sea levels in Ceará.

Productivity by Irrigation

Achieving better yields means lesser occupation of land. SuperVerde believes that irrigation is the key to better yields. It is necessary to produce adequate quantities to fulfil the dramatic growing demand of biofuels. Initial investments are more significant but the payback will likely justify this. Initial studies show an increase in production of 3 to 5 times. At the same time dependency on the weather is decreasing and therefore a major agricultural risk is avoided.

Productivity by cross cropping

The land can be used similarly for more than one crop. Intelligent cross cropping will lead to a 1+1 = 3 equation. It not exhaust the soil more than under single crop production. SuperVerde mainly goes for cross cropping their oil carrying non food crops with food crops to be socially correct. A good thing is that food product will still generate a good income too. Cross cropping is an economically interesting option.

Productivity by ecological production

It is a mirth that agro-chemicals will always be more economical than ecological methods. For strong and resistant crops we believe that ecological methods are also economical more sustainable. We avoid pollution of our lands. We produce our fertilizers on our own lands and therefore also avoid pollution by chemical factories and the transport of these products. SuperVerde will treat its ecological fertilizers as resources and control the quantities used.

SuperVerde wants to enable micro farmers to be part of its operations. We will obtain a recognized Brazilian social label (Selo combutível Social) proving that 50% of our oil carrying products are outsourced with small farmers. An important social aspect is that most of these family farmers do not own more than 3 HA of land. Conventional production of Mamona or Jatropha may not be adequate for these farmers. With higher yields are vital to reach a fair income. SuperVerde is setting up an educational program in Ceará to teach these farmers how to improve their yields in an environmental correct way.
