How we work |
Small Medium Big Return Home Page

We believe that social responsible investments will be no more than a hype when they are not meant to be profitable. Offering our investors a good return is a key priority. We aim for a return of 10% on property investment not taking in account the increase in property value. Our operational results are targeted at 20% before taxes. SuperVerde will outperform mainstream SRI funds aiming for a dividend on shares of 5 to 10%. Offering this return to investors will still enable us to invest largely in environmental precaution and social circumstances. We seek for third party appraisal of our efforts being transparent to investors, customers, employees and the society at large.

Environmental precaution

We will work on an ecological way avoiding the use of agrochemicals. We will use non-food crops for biofuels and produce food poducts along side with these crops. We do not allow deforesting of rainforest and we apply strict rules on the type and size of bush to be cleared for new agricultural land. Our products are renewables aimed to save global fossil resources. Our products will be less polluting than the conventional alternatives. We seek for CO2 emission reduction in the whole supply chain of SuperVerde renewables. Achieving better yields means lesser occupation of land. We will use irrigation techniques and ecological soil improvement for better productivity. Water and fertilizer use will be monitored and controlled.

Social investment

Our main social impact is the creation of jobs in (mostly poor) rural areas in the Nordeste of Brazil. At one hand we mechanize our own areas where at the other hand we stimulate and invest in independent farmers that own small areas. We invest in seeds and tools, help to educate and aim to create irrigated zones for viable micro farming. At this moment every irrigated 5,5 hectares we operate will create 1 fair paid job. Our aim is that local farmer with 3 hectares of land will be able to earn a fair income. We invest in related social agro-economical research and education and explore the possibility to provide micro loans. Where adequate we will also invest in social projects in and around the areas we work in.

Renewable Products

The main oily crops used are Pinhão Manso (Jatropha) and Mamona (Castor plant). We exchange information and seeds with various parts of Brazil and Indonesia to explore the highest possible oil production per hectare of land. We plan to experiment with other promising crops such as dendê and even algae. Final renewable products are mainly biodiesel but also we seek to explore the potential of biokerosene and biopolymers.
